Parkside Development Portlaoise

Parkside is located just south of the centre of Portlaoise town, on the Abbeyleix road, adjacent to the O’Moore Park GAA grounds. The site is linear in shape with an average length of 220m and an average depth of 53m. The site area is 10,920m2.

To the west of the site is O’Moore Park GAA grounds, consisting of terraces immediately adjacent to the site and the new stand on the opposite side of the playing field. O’Moore Park has a current capacity of 35,000 spectators. Also, to the east of the site, the proposed new inner relief road is currently planned to intersect with Abbeyleix Road along the site’s road frontage.

The buildings are designed to be elegant and contemporary, and are generally or linear form, Made in materials of brick, glass, timber, steel and reconstituted stone, the buildings are of a slender proportion.

The buildings are set back from the road edge, and an open plaza space is proposed above the road level providing significant space for pedestrian traffic, as is appropriate, given the proximity of O’Moore Park.

Parkside provides an appropriate mix of uses including the following:

Block A incorporates a licensed premises including bar, lounge, restaurant, and ancillary accommodation.

Block B incorporates retail shop units sub-divisible into two or more units, situated at Plaza level, 20 one-bedroom apartments and 36 two bedroom apartments situated at second, third, fourth and penthouse levels.

Block C incorporates retail space at upper basement/ground level, office space, childcare facility, and gym at plaza level. Office space, 40 two bedrooms apartments at second, third, fourth and penthouse levels.

Block D incorporates retail space at upper basement/ground level, with office space, at plaza level and two upper levels.

697 car parking spaces have been provided.
